REQUIREMENTS FOR MEMBERSHIP |
|
| GENERAL | |
| Individuals will be received into one of three levels of membership based upon the call of God upon their life, experience, and current involvement in ministry. Credentials are not given to recognize work that is normally expected from all believers within the Body of Christ. Issuance of these credentials is not intended to create a ministry, but to recognize a ministry that already exists or is evident in its developmental stages within the areas of the five-fold ministry gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher. Basic requirements: - Salvation experience and subsequent walk with God. - Agreement with statement of faith. - Call of God defined. - Two years of Bible school training or equivalent in ministerial experience. - Active involvement at the local church level. - Pastoral approval and recommendation. - Willingness to make personal sacrifice for the sake of the Gospel. The period of Christian Workers Papers / Licensing / Ordination shall be twelve months. During this time, CLMO shall examine and observe the calling, gifts, dedication and faithfulness of the worker / minister in regard to his/her CHristian experience. If the worker / minister has been faithful to his/her calling, the ministerial status will be renewed and a ministerial card (for licensed or ordained minister) issued annually. |

Furthermore: - The candidate for ordination shall be a licensed minister in good standing with CLMO; or, licensed as a minister through any organization approved by the President and Board of Directors. - The candidate shall have been licensed for a period of two years before application for ordination will be considered, unless circumstances clearly indicate that ordination is required for the individual to continue in the avenue of ministry called. Through ordination, Covenant Life Ministerial Organization confers upon the ordained minister the authority to solemnize marriages, conduct baptism and burial and conduct other forms of religious worship and sacramental functions in accordance with the tenets of the Church so long as he/she is in fellowship with Covenant Life Ministerial Organization and while maintaining a godly life and scriptural teaching. |
